um. It's not funny. It's not supposed to be funny.
Aren't comics supposed to be funny? It's not really a comic.
Well, what it is then? I can't define it in terms of what it is, I can only define it in terms of what it is not.
What is the concept? Each comic is a combination of two sentences of a story and two photographs. The viewer is encouraged to use this fragment as a seed and develop the rest of the story in their own minds.
What are the main themes? tiny ghosts is a creepy, melancholy, sometimes depressing, sometimes darkly humorous, weekly, photo webcomic. It's maybe about what it feels like to be a monster or a ghosts or a robot, but not the scary kind. It's about being frightened or war and what you might turn into when you grow up if you aren't careful. It's about loss and longing and love and hope and being small and scared of a big world and not knowing your place in it and wanting to belong but always being on the outside and not being sure that God loves you but really hoping he does, because pretty much everyone else thinks you are a weirdo.

How often is it updated? There is a new comic every Monday. It would be more, but I don't really want to work that hard. One a week is about all I can manage.
I dont like pushing buttons, is there an RSS feed that will automatically send me the comic? Surprisingly yes! The RSS feed can be found at:
What equipment is used to create tiny ghosts? Most of the earlier photos were taken with a Konica Minolta Dimage 200 8 megapixel digital SLR camera. Now I use a Nikon D80 10.2 megapixel digital SLR camera. I still use the Minolta for some shots though. Then I do some post processing with iPhoto, and finally post processing and formatting with Photoshop Elements 3 for Mac.
Where's the ads, merch, subscripton fees, etc? I have enough money. I don't need to bother with any of that. I have decided to sell out a little bit and offer framed prints of the comics and a anthology, but I don't really expect anyone to actually buy them. It's more so I can brag to people how I sell art on the internet.
Who is the author? Just some guy, he's not important.
Why all the anonymity? The idea was freeform self-expression, not money or fame. If I charge people money (or eyeballs) there is an expectation that they will receive something of value in return. If I publicize myself and talk about how cool I am for having an avant-garde online comic, then I open myself up to criticism that I'm not as cool as I think I am. By gaining nothing and remaining anonymous and non-profit, then I'm under no obligation to entertain you. If you want to like it, you can, if you think it sucks, that's fine too. You can criticize the work, but you can't criticize me because I'm not gaining anything by creating it.
So no one knows who you are? It's not like its a big secret or anything, I'm sure you could figure it out if you really wanted to. But I don't tell people about it really. My mom probably knows.
I think you are sexy, how do I contact you? You can email me at:
Can I use the comics somewhere? Yes. This entire site is public domain. Just don't claim that you are me because that interferes with the whole anonymity zeitgeist I've set up. Plus, I owe some large sums of money to some scary people, and it's probably better for your health not to get involved with them.
I love you and want to be your friend You can show support by connecting to me at: Facebook, MySpace, LiveJournal, or Twitter. But don't expect all that much.
Your comic is a blatant ripoff of this other comic. Everything in this world is similar to other things. There are only a limited number of new ideas. This comic is not the first to use photos instead of drawings, or to not be funny, or to not have recurring characters, but that doesn't mean it's not unique in it's own way. Would you say Calvin & Hobbes is a ripoff of Peanuts because they both deal with an unpopular kid and his talking pet?
It's still not funny. No, it isn't funny. Sorry.
